Pathogens

Pathogens are microorganisms that can cause disease. In aquariums, pathogens can lead to infections, compromised immune systems, and outbreaks that threaten the health of fish and other inhabitants.

Pathogens tested

Amoebic gill disease (AGD), Brooklynella, Marine ich, Marine velvet, Perkinsus (pinched mantle disease), pathogenic fungi, Uronema, and more.

Parasites

Parasites are organisms that live on or inside a host, deriving nutrients at the host’s expense. In aquariums, parasites can infect fish, corals, and invertebrates, causing diseases, stress, and potential mortality if left untreated.

Parasites tested

Acropora-eating flatworms, Coral snails, Eye flukes, Fish leach, Fish lice, Gill flukes Gill lice, Hexamita, Montipora-eating flatworms, Myxozoans, Parasitic copepods, Parasitic Monogean flatworms, Roundworms, Trichodina, Turbonilla, Zoanthid-eating nudibranch and more.

Pests

Pests are unwanted organisms, such as invasive flatworms, nudibranchs, snails, or algae, that can disrupt the balance of an aquarium. They may compete with other aquarium inhabitants, often leading to stress, damage, or population imbalances in the tank.

Pests

Acoel flatworms, Aiptasia, Asterina, Red planaria Vermitid snails, boring bivalves, fire-worms, Bryopsis and nuisance algae, sea-spiders, and more.

Toxic algae

Toxic algae are harmful microalgae that produce toxins capable of negatively impacting fish, corals, and other marine life in an aquarium. These algae can cause water quality issues, oxygen depletion, and even poisoning, leading to stress, disease, or mortality among tank inhabitants.

Species producing the following toxins:

Saxitoxins (STX), Ciguatoxins (CTX), Maitotoxins (MTX), Brevetoxins (BTX), Okadaic Acid (OA), Dinophysistoxins (DTX), Pectenotoxins (PTXs), Cooliatoxins, Palytoxins (PLTX), Hemolytic toxins, Azaspiracids (AZA), Prymnesins, Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS) and more.

From Trouble to Thriving-Thanks to P3

Got the P3 test after noticing some Acropora colonies losing colour and with no polyp extension. The test detected AEFW I never knew I had. I followed their eradication protocol then tested again after treatment to double check. My tank is confirmed AWFW-free!

Saved my Acropora colonies

Rafael R. - Sunshine Coast - 796L mixed reef

I aim to run quarterly P3 tests. This time it caught elevated Ostreopsis levels and a few minor pests even though everything looked fine. I tweaked nutrients and avoided a nasty bloom. zero livestock lost.

Routine Check Prevented a Dino Bloom

Adam R. - Melbourne - 120L mixed reef

My tangs and wrasses were flashing with no obvious signs of disease. The P3 kit showed two fluke species plus Trichodina. After targeted treatment the fish are eating and vibrant again. Problem solved without guessing
